Easy Step-by-Step guide for SEO

There is a lot of information about search engine optimization for new websites that could threaten some companies. Often they do nothing without the help of an experienced internal SEO or consultant.

How to do SEO

Today we will consider the simple things you can do to get your website SEO started on your right foot-even if you can’t hire a specialist to help you.

1. Basics of on-site SEO

Some of the most important factors for search engine optimization occur on your own website. As you may have heard about link building (more on that later), link building without optimal search optimization within your site is not as effective. Here are the minimum on-site optimization elements that need to be placed on the main page of your website (especially the home page).

The golden rule of on-site optimization

Before you start, one thing to keep in mind when using any of the following SEO elements is not to overdo it. You may try to impose too many keywords on your page, but that is not the goal. In fact, Google has unleashed an over-optimization penalty for websites with many keywords on a single page. Keep keyword optimization simple. Think up to five keywords or keyword phrases on each page of your website and optimize for them.

If you are not sure which keywords to use, enter some preliminary ideas into Google’s AdWords Keyword Tool to get suggestions. Or, if you really want to get into the keyword research process, see the Keyword Research Guide-Part I and Part II.

Title tags

Website page title tags tell search engines what the page is about. Must be 70 characters or less and include business or brand names and keywords that are relevant only to the specific page. This tag is placed between the <HEAD> </ HEAD> tags near the top of the page’s HTML code.

Meta description

The meta description of the pages on your website gives search engines some more insight into what your pages are. There is still debate about whether meta descriptions can help with keyword ranking. Anyway, because the meta description appears in search results, write the meta description with the human viewer in mind, including the key keywords on the page.

How title tags and meta descriptions appear in search results

The image above shows how title tags and meta descriptions appear in Google search results. You can see that the keyword the user searched for (in this case, the keyword is KISSmetrics) has been bolded by Google in both the title tag and the meta description. This is why you need to use business or brand names and keywords in both titles and meta descriptions. This makes your search results stand out when searchers search for these terms.

Are you using WordPress?

If you are using WordPress on your own domain, you are lucky. Adding title tags and meta descriptions to your pages are easy with free plugins such as All in One SEO, Platinum SEO, and Yoast’s SEO. You can also get SEO suggestions using premium plugins such as Scribe SEO.

Additional onsite SEO elements

Title tags and meta descriptions are the most important SEO elements, but they are not the only ones. To further optimize your search, include the following in your website’s page content:

Internal Links – Link Building is not dedicated to external sites that link to websites. By internally linking to other pages on your website in your content, you can help search engines learn more about your website. As an example, this blog post uses internal links when linking to other posts on the blog.

Header Tags-This blog post divides content into sections and uses three different levels of HTML header tags to help search engines know what each section of content is. The <H1> </ H1> tags enclose the post title. Only one set of <H1> </ H1> tags per page. The <H2> </ H2> and <H3> </ H3> tags enclose subheadings on the page. There may be more than one of both instances. Header tags allow both readers and search engines to divide content into digestable sections.

Image names and ALT tags – If you use images on your website, you need to consider keywords that are appropriate for both the image name and the alt tag. The first image in the post uses <img src = ”on-site-search-optimization-SEO-title-tag.png” alt = ”on-site search optimization SEO title tag” />. Optimize for on-site search optimization of keywords. This allows the search engine to find the right image for image search based on the specified keyword.

Bold text – I don’t want to get hooked on this, but bold text selections to get the reader’s attention can also help search engines distinguish other important information and keywords in the content of the page You.

3. Off-site optimization (aka link building)

Link building is probably one of the most talked-about (and debated) SEO tasks. The basic goal of link building is to link other websites to your website. If you consider ranking at the top of the search results as a popularity contest, a link is like a vote that your website deserves a high ranking. Retrieving links using keyword anchor text is particularly useful for ranking the keywords to which they link. For example, Adobe Reader clicks here to rank first by keyword. This is because so many websites linked using anchor text click here to download Adobe Reader.

So how do you get a link? There are many ways to do it some good and some not. If you read thoroughly about link building, you will eventually hear about the three types of links and link building techniques.

Organic links – these are the links you don’t need to seek and are the best. In particular, if they are available on highly authoritative sites, such as major news outlets or other well-known websites.

White Hat-This is basically short for high quality, high-quality link building (a kind of effort).

Blackhat-This stands for spam-like, low-quality link construction (a type to avoid).

Most websites struggle to generate enough organic links to improve their ranking in search engines. This is why link building is such a popular service. However, you can start building high-quality links by doing some of the following activities:

Submit guest blog posts to popular blogs in the industry. A link to your website usually appears in the author’s box at the top or bottom of the post’s content.

Reach out to related (but uncompetitive) businesses and see if they link to you. A good way to do this is to make sure that the business you work for has a linked page on a partner, vendor, supplier or other sites.

Create local search profiles (if applicable) and social media profiles. Links are not always counted in search rankings, but they can help you collect clicks and increase incoming traffic to your website.

Submit your website or purchase advertising to the appropriate industry directory. For example, anyone in the wedding business can get a list containing links to the websites of The Knot, The Wedding Channel, and other similar sites. Bypass low-quality directories that are unrelated to the industry and links to suspicious websites in the adult, pharmaceutical, and online casino industries.

Create content appropriate for the link. Infographics are a great example. Create beautiful images that represent important information and allow others to link to your credit using infographics on your website.

4. How Google+ Helps Rankings

Speaking of creating a social profile for links, if your goal is to dominate Google, you need to make sure you join Google+. Google’s proprietary social network helps improve the ranking of connected people in search results. For example, if you log in to Google+ and search for SEO, the top 5 search results will show: Personalized search results based on your friend’s name have a little person icon.

When you are not logged in to Google+, you can see that the two personalized results shown above are not in the top five. One of them is not on the first page either.

This indicates that personalized search results are better than local search results. Therefore, if you want to participate in a personalized search game, your goal is to do the following:

Create a Google+ personal profile and business page.

+1 a website you want to rank in search results, share your website as a status update on your profile or page, and recommend your website by linking with your recommended website’s profile information.

Complete your profile information so that others want to connect with you.

Check your settings and make sure your profile information is public with your status information.

Share other interesting updates to your profile so that you aren’t too self-promoting.

Start connecting with people who want to see your website in search results. Use the Google+ search box to find people to connect to and add them to your circles. Hopefully, most will re-add you.

Basically, the more popular on Google+, the more likely it is to affect the personalized search results of the people who follow you. So make the most of this social network and enjoy the benefits.

5. Monitoring results

Last but not least, you need to track SEO progress by monitoring the results. The three most important tools you can use to monitor these results are:

Authority Labs – Create a free account and get it after using a 30 day trial of a pro account. Use this tool to track keyword rankings on your website and see if your keywords are rising in search results.

Google Analytics – Use Google Analytics to see details of visitors to your website. In particular, monitor your organic search traffic sources to see what keywords people are using to find your website in search results. By setting goals, you can see the keywords that lead visitors to places they want to do on your website, such as signing up for a mailing list or purchasing a product. This will help you know which keywords to target in your SEO campaign.

DataForSEO – Use this tool to get raw SEO data directly into your custom application. Use the rank tracker API to track keyword ranking, SERP results, keyword data, and more.

There are many other valuable SEO tools, but these are the first to help you see if your SEO efforts are making a difference.

If you can follow the suggestions in this post, you will definitely start with the right foot when it comes to search engine optimization for your website. And hopefully, you can start enjoying the benefits of gaining more visitors via search engines!
